It's that time again. Yes, there's two of us: Nico and myself. But the community isn't that small anymore, and so I need more help, specifically someone who knows how to add Memories to a community. My co-mod works and actually has a life so he's not online much and I am often busy with school related functions and my 'child' (read: computer) often throws fits and I'll be stranded for days at a time without a computer...so...

If you think you're qualified for the position, please inquire about it at this entry. I'd appreciate it if the member is also involved with the community, too, for they'd know how the comm works and what not.

"Candidate for deletion" is the newest addition to our Tags archive. Just...wanted you to be aware of it.

You know how the rules were all over the place, right? Well, I cleaned them up and even added sections. It's awesome, eh?

Behind the cut are the new policies. I really didn't add much, though I clarified things (so I guess I added stuff), moved things around, and omitted things.

Q: Who are the mods?
Good question. Most people have no idea who the moderators actually are for any given community--there's nothing denoting them as such. That's why we created this account--to denote us as moderators.

Your wonderful and benevolent moderators are sailorvfan10 and thenicochan, aka Jayden and Nico. They're fifteen and eighteen, respectively, and they both have a love for fanfiction, Resident Evil, Fire Emblem, and long walks on the beach Christopher Redfield's ass.

Jayden's a little weird whereas Nico's the more saner of the two.

Q: Why don't you post much? I thought mods were supposed to be a bit part of the community!
I haven't been involved with Fire Emblem much as of late, seeing as I'm working on a novel and a long WIP for the Melee fandom. As a result, I have nothing to rant about. School work also keeps me busy most of the time. Nico's often busy with work and other personal things.

Nico comments a lot, though, and I'm sure he reads the community everyday to check for updates and to keep an eye on things. I comment every so often; due to the fact that there are a lot of Souen/Akatsuki rants, I really can't say much on the topic, but other things...

We do a lot of spying and behind-the-scenes activity.

Q: What's with Jayden's affixiation with tags?
Jayden (who often talks about herself in the third person) is anal-retentive about organisation, especially if she hopes for a large community someday. While you can repeat the same rant over and over, you should look to see if someone else posted it--maybe they said it better than you could, or you'd like to mention something they forgot.

That and organisation, mostly.

Q: Is it true that if you still wrote the way you did that you'd end up being on this very community?
To tell you the truth, I'm quite surprised my one very crappy Souen fanfic was never mentioned. But yes, I'd end up being ranted about probably.

Q: Why can't we eat our own?
Because it's not fun and it's just an excuse for drama and wank. We run under a self-moderation policy for the most part--the mods only step in for serious infractions--and that doesn't equal "eat your own". There is a difference.

People are probably under the impression that I'm dead, but I'm not. The activity of the community has gone down quite a bit, so there's no memory addings or Tag corrections or the like; and there aren't any policy additions, subtractions, or changes.

While I can't say the same for my co-mod (who is busy as hell lately), I'm definitely not dead.

Remember, if you need to contact me, you can do so by use of email: fe.rants.mods [at] gmail [dot] com. Any mail received in that account is forwarded to my main email, and if something's directed towards my co-mod (Nico), then I'll forward it to him.

Oh yes, in the last post, I asked if there was anyone who would be willing to fill in the open mod space.

Well, after talking to Nico, we decided to hold off on appointing another co-mod for now. I can handle the Memories just fine now that the community seems to be slowing down somewhat.

So no, the position has not been filled, and we are not looking for anyone at the current moment. We can handle everything fine as of now.

First, I hope you've perused all the existing tags before deciding we need another one.

Here's the criteria:
1. If it can fit into another category, please use that one instead. For example, you want a Tag specifically for Mary Sues. Mary Sues can fit under "fanfiction rants" and therefore is not needed.
2. Please state why we need this Tag. It could be because you ranted about a Fire Emblem game we don't have a Tag for, for example. In that case, not only will a Tag be added, but a keyword in the "Memories" section will also be added.
3. We don't need specific bashing Tags. "bashing rants" is fine by itself, it doesn't need Tags such as "Elbert bashing"or "Elincia bashing"...you get the idea.

Not all Tag requests will be approved, as they are judged by the maintainer (sailorvfan10). Don't be all depressed or angry if your Tag doesn't make the cut--chances are, we have a Tag for it but it's under a more generalised term.

So yeah. Go ahead and request a Tag! Just comment on this entry with it, the reason why we need this tag, and any other remarks that have to do with it.
